Feb 13, 2023. The Canon EOS R8 is the company's second ever sub-$1500 full-frame camera (just). It's a compact, entry- (ish)-level body with a lot of EOS R6 II to it. But there are also some limitations. We look at what it is, what it isn't and how it stacks up against its peers. Unless one can use an RF to Z adapter to test both on a Z body, it is largely meaningless because body differences contribute to the test results. Meanwhile, an adapted lens is going to have AF and other side effects. Essentially, if you use Canon R, get the Canon lens. Few would decide on which system based on common lenses such as 24-105/120mm.
Any of Canon's 83mm hoods will fit, but to avoid vignetting you need the one designed specifically for your RF 24-105. As Steven wrote, the 83mm hood for 24-105 zooms is the EW-83N. There are other variations that will probably work fine, the differences are pretty subtle: EW-83H (EF f/4L mk I), EW-83M (EF f/3.5-5.6 and EF f/4L mk II).

Sharpness may be slightly less at the long end. 3. At 24mm you may notice some corner issues at f/4. In the end, I don't spend a lot of time worrying about the "sweet spot" for focal length - if I need a focal length on this lens I use it. Dan. Comment for Dene: If you are really getting "Very fuzzy" fuzzy images with your 24-105 something

Sample images from the upcoming Sigma 24-105 f/4L DG OS Art lens have appeared over at lenstip.com. The sample images look good to me and the $899 price tag for the lens more than justified. View sample images here | Preorder: Sigma 24-105 f/4 OS at B&H Photo
